Arguements FOR Low emission zone

Here are some points FOR why the low emission zone is a good idea:

1. London for transport have stated that there are about 1000 premature deaths and about 1000 hospital admissons as a result of poor air quality.
2. It will encourage people and companies to buy more eco friendly cars to aviod paying the £200 fee.
3. Help improve the environment and increase air quality within London.
4. Mayor Ken Livingstone aims to lower emissions by 16% by 2020.
5. Transport contributes about half of all the air pollution in the capital.
