The low emission zone ; Arguement against the issue

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7215252.stm link to site explaining about the decision.

"Those not meeting the emission standards will have to register with TfL and pay up to £200 a day to enter the zone."
This will take a large chunk out of the companys annual income and will cause a great loss to the company which effectivly could cause a series of events which could cause mass unemployemnt. The companies effected will not be able to afford the prices they are being charged to enter the city for a long period of time, especially if the company does it very often. They will try and have less lorries going into the zone therefore they will not need as many drives and the company will have to lay people off. The scheme as explained will go on in a couple of years to effect everything larger then a standard four door car. This will effect buses which the bus companies will have to pay and cause a rise in the fair on a bus. So it may cause people to just take a car and this will actually in the long run increase pollution rather than reduce it.
