Microsoft and there troublesome encounters with the EU
It has been envisaged that Microsoft has been abusing its monopoly power within the software market, as it has been confining information needed by other firms who intend to make there software compatible with Microsoft’s ‘Window’ Program.
This came after allegations were made against Microsoft who were harmfully using there dominance in the Pc software market and dispersing into the server market (media player and internet explorer). This has caused a response by the Competition authorities in Eu which has ordered Microsoft to breaks its 'bundle package' which it supplies in its Windows program.
The action in which the competition commission has taken are adequate steps in generating more competition within the software market as well as diversifying consumer choice; which was highly prohibited by Microsoft’s dominance in the Pc market which in turn handed them power in markets which complemented there software.
