Balance of Payments Deficit

The UK announicing a record trade gap deficit is a common headline it seems.  It is gettting worse.  Yet, a depreciating pound should have stopped the decline as it should have boosted exports.  This effect has clearly been outweighed by very weak demand for UK exports, mainly from the US.
