1)Make notes on :
- how unemployment is measured using the claimant count
- how unemployment is measured using the ILO survey
- what is meant by cyclical unemployment
- what is meant by frictional unemployment
- what is meant by structural unemployment
- what is meant by classical unemployment
- what is meant by regional unemployment
- what is meant by seasonal unemployment
- which types of unemployment are worse than others.
As well as using your textbooks (please note the plural), you should have a look at this which is the government's statistics guide on how unemployment is measured.
2) Learn it all.
Readers may be exasperated at the sheer volume of work here, contemporaneously described as 'bare work'. However, fear not : you will not be expected to have learnt all of this until the first lesson after half-term.
