a truly inspiring story of a Malawian boy who had an idea, researched it and then used his inert inventiveness and determination to generate power for his little village.
As well as being just a great story, it serves to illustrate how economic development is best when it is at grass-roots level in the absence of big top-down aid projects. The story is here on the BBC, but put the book on your Christmas list!
