A worrying trend, which is gaining more and more media coverage is the land grab in Africa. Read this interesting article form The Guardian on how MNCs, mainly from the Middle East, are buying up huge swathes of African land to grow food for their own populations.
Sadly their actions are far from benign, with Ethiopian and other tribes suffering by having their fertile land stolen from them. The Economics might be sound, but the ethics is plain wrong.
