What does technology mean for us?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uug8m0BHzZo

Technology is amazing. It makes our lives easier, more comfortable, and without it we would still be a bunch of Neanderthals wrestling in the mud over food (although you may argue that not much progress has been made on that front).

However what will this mean for our futures? I'm not saying that progress is a bad thing (the exact opposite), but there are going to be some major changes in society sooner than you may think. This is a world where artificial intelligence is predicted to overtake human intelligence in just fifteen years, where we have machines that will soon be capable of printing living cells into open wounds, and where we have even achieved teleportation (granted, only with photons of light, but we have done it nevertheless).

Technology will destroy jobs. It will also create new ones. Currently tests are being done on robots that allow disabled individuals to work as policemen.  Sooner than we think we may no longer have the need for educational facilities, as information could be beamed directly into our brains (sorry Mr Jeffery).
