Sorry this has taken so long to post. This essay will be assessed by your peers. This will allow the class to understand the A2 standard a little better. We will discuss the different levels and we will read through some of the essays in class. This is called "Assessment for Learning.
The days of people rushing essays in the study area, being given a poor grade by me and learning nothing from the experience are over.
My assessment of your progress will be done in class - once or month or so - in the form of mini-mock exams. That will give me a better idea of what you are likely to do in the exam.
Essay title : To what extent do you agree with the view that patents for pharmaceutical companies should be limited to five years.
So, that everyone (including the Kintbury retreatants) have a chance to do this to the best of their ability, we will be marking it on Tuesday 28th September.
Assessment Criteria : arguments for and against are analysed ; evaluation in each paragraph ; judgement is fully justified ; evidence of own research ; flowing structure.
